The international Gran Paradiso Summer School is organized by Timothy White (Pennsylvania State University, USA) and Antonello Provenzale (CNR IGG, Pisa, Italy), in the framework of the Belmont Forum ABRESO project and of the Italian ITINERIS PNRR project, in collaboration with the Gran Paradiso National Park, LifeWatch ERIC and eLTER RI.

On June 22nd, at the end of the lessons, a special dissemination (and tasting) event on génépy, a typical local artemisia-based liqueur, was organized and will be held by a woman farmer from Valsavarenche.

Transportation:
There will be a special bus from Torino to Valsavarenche on the 20th afternoon with departure from Porta Nuova Train Station at about 5 pm, and then from the Caselle Turin Airport about half an hour later (arrival at Valsavarenche at about 8 pm) and, at the end of the Gran Paradiso Summer School, on the 29th morning (from Valsavarenche to Torino).
Additional information:
We are organizing some field trips in nearby areas. Please, take a pair of hiking/trekking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a daypack. You should consider that the weather in alpine areas can change suddenly and, night may be quite cold! So, please, don’t forget a warm sweater and a mountain/rain-jacket.
