The Gran Paradiso National Park (Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso, PNGP) is a protected area established by the State in order to preserve ecosystems of national and international relevance of the valleys around the Gran Paradiso massif, for present and future generations. The PNGP was the first National Park established in Italy in 1922. In 2014 it has been inscluded, as unique italian park, in the IUCN Green List, the green list of 23 parks in the whole world, chosen by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, for their conservation and management role of protected areas.
